Abstract

This assignment was to illustrate that my group mates and I have decided on innovation for our engineering proposal. After going through several innovative ideas, we decided to create completely biodegradable glasses and illustrate the design and the need for the innovation.

Currently, my group is currently considering our proposal to be temporary lenses that can be stuck on to frames of glasses. There can be individuals who are busy and do not have the time to fix their glasses. In order to resolve this issue, temporary recyclable frames will be given to individuals along with thin lenses which contain an adhesive that allows the lenses to stick on. This item can be ordered online where individuals can have their lenses specially made based on their prescription. This item is made to be used for emergencies and should be in reserve in case an individual’s glasses break unexpectedly. Along with recyclable frames, we are also having the frames be made out of recyclable materials as well. We are considering the lenses to be similar to a sticker so we would require many resources since we would need individuals who would be able to create this type of lens. This product would also somewhat of a replacement for contacts since there may be individuals who dislike putting them on and would like to continue using glasses for the time being. The pricing would not be expensive since it would unappealing to have replacements that would be so expensive.
